Description
- Available during Light the Night – Saturdays 5-9 pm (weather permitting)
- bookings open on a weekly rolling basis starting Mon for the following Saturday to Friday
- fire pits must be booked 12 hours ahead
- Choose your (private) fireside experience! We have 4 to choose from:
- Fire Lounge (propane fire table with 4 Muskoka chairs, located on the patio beside the Café
- Porch-Side Fire Pits (wood burning fire pit with 4 Muskoka chairs – the ‘large’ has 8 Muskoka Chairs)
- located beside the canoe porch near the Café
- Ice Trail Fire Pits (wood burning fire pit with benches beside the Ice Trail, skate or snowshoe access, seats 6)
- Snowshoe Trail Fire Pits (wood burning, beside the Snowshoe Trail, seats 6)
- Each has it’s own appeal!
- With the wood fire pits, we light the fire and give you enough wood to keep it going for 90 minutes.
- Trail passes are required to reach trail-side pits
- walking on the trails is not permitted for safety reasons
- Things to know
- arrive 30-45 minutes before rental starts
- check in for passes and supplies
- Porch-Side Fire Pits and Fire Lounge are near the buildings and Café
- Ice Trail Fire Pits are along the Ice Trail, so you will skate (with your food) to your designated area
- for non-skaters in your group, it is possible to snowshoe to the fire pits
- you CANNOT walk to the fire pits (for safety reasons)
- Snowshoe Trail Fire Pits are on the Snowshoe Trail overlooking the Ice Trail
- access is via snowshoes
- walking is not permitted (for safety reasons)
- no outside food and drink allowed
- s’mores, food and drinks can be ordered from the take-out Café Menu when you arrive
- come dressed for the weather (indoor change space is not available)
- manage your belongings (lockers and storage not available)
- we are not responsible for lost or stolen items
- skate guards recommended
- About the Ice Trail
- recommended for intermediate skaters and above
- need to be safe on skates around the fire
- need to be able to skate 1.2 km minimum
- trail is one-way for safety
- need to be able to carry food to the fire pit area
- NOT recommended for young children
- conditions are weather dependent
- decisions around trail conditions and status are made by our ops crew
- conditions can range from poor to excellent and are not guaranteed
- trails can be closed with no notice for safety
- Permitted: skating, helmets HIGHLY recommended
- Not Permitted (for safety and/or traffic flow): walking, strollers, sleds, pets, hockey, snowshoes, skate aids
- recommended for intermediate skaters and above
- About the Snowshoe Adventure
- Snowshoe through the woods by torchlight and headlamp
- Adventure Passes include trail access, snowshoe and headlamp rental
- Torchlit trail is approx. 2.5 km long
- Fire pits are near the beginning of the trail, overlooking the Ice Trail
- Food can be purchased at the Café and taken to your fire pit
The fine print:
- activities must be pre-booked and pre-paid
- bookings cannot be rescheduled or refunded
- if we have to cancel for any reason, a refund may be requested
