Christmas spices and nuts add some zip to traditional sauce. Serve with traditional turkey or try it with roasted pork or ham.
Ingredients
3 cups (12 ounces) fresh or frozen Johnston’s Cranberries
1/2 cup golden raisins
3/4 cup orange juice
1 tbsp vinegar
1 two inch stick cinnamon
1 tsp dry ginger
1 tsp ground allspice
1/2 cup coarsely chopped nuts
Method
Combine water and sugar in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Add cranberries; return to a boil. Gently boil cranberries for ten minutes without stirring. Pour into a medium glass mixing bowl. Gently stir in remaining ingredients and refrigerate. Makes about 2 1/2 cups
