Winter 2021/22
Thanks for taking the time to read about our policy.
To provide the safest possible experience, participants in winter activities (12 years and up) are required to be fully vaccinated. (Proof of Vaccination is not required for shopping). At this point, children under 12 are not required to be vaccinated, but this may change with eligibility.
Staff are also fully vaccinated.
We, like many others who operate outdoor recreational activities, have decided to adopt this policy in the hopes that we can remain open and operate as safely as possible while providing much-needed fun and exercise.
As the last two years have shown us, government mandates keep changing. Continually revising our policy is difficult and challenging, for us and our customers. We also provide a wide variety of activities, each subject to different government restrictions. Our goal was to set one, consistent policy that would see us through the winter season.
This is more than a business; it is our home. Ensuring the safety of our ‘cranberry family’ is critical for our mental and physical well-being and allows us to continue to do what we love – greeting visitors and sharing the magic of what we do and where we live with them. This was a unanimous, staff-wide decision.
We looked to other outdoor attractions, like ski hills, that implemented vaccination policies for this season. One of the reasons ski hills were closed last year was because of their impact on their local communities and hospitals. We are part of a very small community (population 500) with many small, family owned businesses. COVID has created challenges for many of these businesses. Our activities attract a lot of people, many from outside our area. We want this visitation to have a positive impact and not create more hardship.
We have one hospital that serves a wide area and several towns. We want to support its ongoing ability to serve our communities effectively.
Limiting and restricting visitation reduces our revenue and requires additional staff, but we hope these measures will help ensure the safety of our visitors, community and family.
We respect your right to choose what is best for you, and we hope you will respect our right to choose what we believe is best for us.
